An early prototype used dual pins (arrows) to capture a drive link. The pins are staged to insure carrier rotation to set a pin; spikes removed for clarity. As shown in the video below, dual pins instantly stop the chain as desired for a next generation saw.
Ready to run, Brake-in-Time single pin (arrow) prototype with the clutch cover removed. The spring loaded pivoting lever is cable connected to the throttle for braking upon throttle release. The upper hand guard (out of the picture at the top of the pivoting lever) operates in kickback to set the brake and force the throttle to idle.
